Speakers:
Wendy Bernfeld (Rights Stuff, The Netherlands)
Docs and Indiefilms : Opportunities in the EU/International Digital Landscape –
Balancing Traditional vs Digital Platforms

Wendy Bernfeld, @wbernfeld, is founder and MD of Rights Stuff, (www.rights-stuff.com) an international content consultancy specialized since 91 in acquisition/distribution and pragmatic licensing, primarily for the digital/VOD platforms sector.

To set the stage, Wendy presents an up-to-date overview of the international digital/video on demand (VOD) sector as it has evolved, in general entertainment as well as specifically in documentaries, arthouse, festival etc. Additionally, she highlights the critical balance with traditional sector buyers and funders, including some pragmatic rights and windows angles in TVOD, SVOD, AVOD and DTO. She also highlights production opportunities – alternative platform “originals” funding (e.g. web-series) and hybrid distribution.

Mike Dicks (Descience, UK)
Mike will explore ways that digital producers and film makers tell stories on new platforms, through a host of examples. Mike will show how people are finding new ways to reach an audience, find new sources of funding and attract the attention of broadcasters and distributors.
