Monica begins her job as an activity coach at a home for the elderly on the outskirts of Stockholm. 99-year-old Ella and other residents of the home enthusiastically participate in the activities Monika organizes, and soon the number of followers of the home’s Facebook account is boosted by several thousand. Full of spry northern humour and kindness, the film is a testament to the ability to live life to the fullest until the very end.

In Latvia, like in the rest of Europe, society is ageing quickly. At the beginning of 2021, there were 393 698 seniors in Latvia over the age of 65, representing 20.8% of the population. 30 years ago (in 1991) the proportion of seniors was almost twice as less – 11.8%. Even though the overall population in Latvia is shrinking, the number of seniors is increasing. In 2017, the first ever gathering of centenarians took place at Rundāle Palace.
