Safer Space Guidelines

Baltic Sea Docs is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for everyone involved in the forum – participants, guests, team members, and partners.

Our commitment

We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind, whether based on gender, gender identity or expression, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. This applies during all forum events and in all related communications.

What we ask of everyone

Respect and inclusivity
Treat all participants with respect regardless of their background, identity, or opinions. Embrace diversity and actively seek to include diverse voices and perspectives.

Language and identity
Use inclusive and respectful language. Avoid making assumptions about others’ identities or experiences. If you’re unsure, it is always acceptable to politely ask. 

Personal boundaries
Respect personal space and boundaries. Do not touch or hug anyone without their consent.

Assumptions and generalisations
Be aware that you cannot know another person’s experience, identity, or life situation. Speak from your own experience rather than generalising. If you make a mistake, take responsibility, apologise, and move on.

Unacceptable behaviour
If you witness or experience behaviour that violates these guidelines, please speak up or report it. Do not allow harassment or discrimination to go unaddressed.
